Red snapper season in the Gulf opens June 1, 2025, and ends September 15. This is one of the busiest times of year for offshore fishing in Port Aransas, and for good reason. The fish are big, the weather is ideal, and the season is limited.
If you’re thinking about booking a red snapper trip, now’s the time. These dates fill quickly, especially weekends and holidays.
What to Expect
Red snapper are a favorite for a reason. They put up a strong fight and make for great eating. When the season opens in June, we head out into deeper Gulf waters to target them.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned angler, Coastal Charters will get you on the fish. We handle everything, gear, bait, etc., so you can focus on having a good time.

Trip Options
We offer several trip lengths, depending on how far you want to go and how long you want to stay out. For red snapper season, most people book the 8 to 12 hour trips to get into deeper water where the big fish are.
- 4-hour trips – good for first-timers or shorter outings
- 6-hour trips – a bit more time offshore
- 8 to 12-hour trips – best for targeting snapper and other offshore species
All trips accommodate up to six people. If you’re visiting from out of town, we’re happy to recommend lodging nearby.
